What are the Data Sources?

Data Sources

FH platform has all of the behavioral and customer data in a single place. We ingest data from all of the following sources:

  • Cloud
  • WorldSwipe loyalty program, call center, and point-of-sale system data
  • Real-time streaming data from online sources
  • Offline sources

Online Data vs. Offline Data

Online Data

Online data is any data that has been generated from online activity or that has been stored in an online environment, such as a CRM. This includes everything from web chat to social media to web interaction data.

Offline Data

Offline data is everything else that is not online. This most commonly includes contact lists that are brought, generated from marketing events, or scrubbed from LinkedIn profiles and other sources, but can also be any customer information collected manually from an in-person interaction, such as phone numbers, purchase history, customer surveys, and more

Marketers know that their customers are primarily searching and shopping online, which makes online data the most valuable information that they can use. However, offline data allows marketers to better understand how online and offline actions are inextricably linked. All this data from disparate sources is merged into a single unified customer profile.

Configuring a Data Source

FH brings new sources of data into platform that includes a catalog of data sources which can be quickly and easily added to the profile. To add data:

  • Authorize the connection.
  • Choose what you want to import from a recommended list of FH pre-mapped tables.
  • For example, select Contacts. A preview of the contacts data automatically loads so you can make sure everything looks as expected.
  • Review the field mappings.

For example, double check that the email field for contacts is mapped correctly. You have the option to preview the data and perform advanced mapping.

If you want to see the profile of a customer, then FH will fetch all the information from the master database and display. This includes the personal information like address and phone number, communication preferences, and the segments that person qualifies for.

Category  Descriptions
Identities  Shows the identities that have linked together in FH platform from all the interactions recorded across channels and devices. The Channel-ID, Customer-ID, email-Id, Phone Number, PAN Number, and more.
Events  Displays all interactions with the brand. This includes the item just viewed, anything viewed in the past, the emails received, interactions with the call center, and what channel and device each of the interactions happened on.

Dynamic Parameter

FH uses dynamic path and query parameters when you need to use different parameters for an API endpoint with each call. You can store the dynamic parameters for inbound and outbound API data integrations in a database table. When the Data List executes, the substitutes the dynamic path and appends the query parameters to the call.

To use dynamic path parameters, add the parameter syntax to the endpoint URL when creating the API Connection. Do not add dynamic query parameters, which are automatically be appended to the endpoint URL when the workflow processes the data integration.

Static Parameter:

Use static path and query parameters to include the same parameters for an API end point with each call. You can add the static path and query parameters directly to the Endpoint URL when configuring the connection used by the data integration.

  NOTE  

When the data list executes, the system includes these static parameters.
