Initial Platform Setup

Setting up your FirstHive account correctly from the start ensures secure access, smooth operations, and compliance with data governance standards. This setup includes two key areas: Account Configuration, where you establish access and workspace settings, and Essential Configurations, where you define core data and privacy preferences.

Account Configuration

Start by configuring platform access and workspace-level settings to align with your team structure and operational needs.

Platform Access

Establish secure user access and authentication settings for your FirstHive account.

  1. Log into the FirstHive CDP dashboard
  2. Configure or validate multi-factor authentication
  3. Set up or verify SSO with your enterprise identity provider (if applicable)
  4. Define user roles and assign permissions

Workspace Initialization

Create and configure the core workspace environment to reflect your organization’s structure and regional context.

  1. Create your primary workspace
  2. Configure regional settings and time zones
  3. Set up basic data governance rules

Security & Compliance Setup

Ensure platform-level compliance with data protection standards and enable controls for secure data handling.

  1. Enable GDPR or advanced privacy compliance settings
  2. Configure data masking preferences
  3. Activate audit logging and monitoring

Essential Configurations

Once account access and workspaces are in place, define platform-level defaults to ensure consistent handling of data, privacy, and performance alerts.

  • Data Retention Policies: Define how long customer data is stored
  • Privacy Settings: Set consent management and opt-out rules
  • Notification Preferences: Configure alerts for ingestion status and campaign performance
  • Integration Limits: Review API rate limits and data processing thresholds
